The Cyprus Biological Society (CBS) and the Cyprus Geographical Group (CGG) announce the postponement of the 2020 Biology and Geography Olympiads, as a result of the Covid 19 pandemic.
Teachers, who have received participation money from students for these Olympiads, are kindly requested to immediately return the money to the beneficiaries.
If teachers have already deposited the total amount collected from their school in the account of the respective scientific society (Cyprus Biological Society for the Biology Olympiads and the Cyprus Geographical Group for the Geography Olympiads), please send, by e-mail, the proof of bank deposit to the corresponding scientific society info@cbs.cy (for CBS) and panayiotisarg@primehome.com (for CGG), until June 5, 2020 at the latest. The bank cheques will be sent by post, so teachers are asked in their e-mail to provide their exact postal address to which they wish the bank cheque to be sent.
Subsequently, the respective scientific society will proceed with the return of the deposited amounts, by issuing cheques, to the teachers. Each teacher is then asked to return the money to the beneficiaries students by June 19, 2020 at the latest.
In case the students are absent from school and the teacher does not have access to them, the teacher is requested as:
a. leave the money at the School Secretariat, in a sealed envelope with the student’s name and class number, and
b. notify the student to receive the name file with the money from the School Secretariat
