The Cyprus Biological Society, in collaboration with the Biology / Geography Inspector at MECAY, has been successfully organising the IJSO Junior Science Olympiad since 2009. The International Youth Science Olympiad (IJSO) is an annual world competition in the Natural Sciences (Physics, Chemistry and Biology) for students up to 15 years old in which 32 countries participate normally with an upward trend. Starting in 2004, IJSO is held every year in December, in a different country.
