CBS goes back a long way, a history of forty (40) years. It was set up in 1978 which makes it one of the oldest science societies in Cyprus. Over the years CBS has been run by more than 20 Governing Bodies.
Distinguished and prominent members of the social, scientific and financial life of Cyprus have served CBS.
These people served the country from top state positions, as Ministers, Members of Parliament, Commissioners, Members of the Education Services Committee, Department Directors of various Ministries, Directors of Research Organisation, Institute Directors, Presidents of Community Councils, Directors of Environment Centres for Education and Research and other important positions.
